Add to this raw talent and sheer determination and what you find is the Star Student of 2017! The Courier& Press and The Gleaner are proud to continue a Tri-State tradition honoring high school juniors who have excelled in a multitude of areas in their young lives.

■ Nominations will be accepted from November 28 through January 6. Nominations may be made by students, parents, educators and members of the community for current Tri-State high school JUNIORS. All information must be submitted online via courierpress.com Visit www.courierpress.com/starstudent/nomination to nominate a student.
■ Nominated students will be contacted and will have from the time of notification through January 27 to complete their application. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
■ An independent panel of judges will review the completed applications and score each nominee. Students will be selected for recognition based on academics, extracurricular activities, school and community leadership, volunteer service and work experience.
■ In all, up to 90 students will be recognized as follows: 20 Gold Star Students, 30 Silver Star Students and40 Bronze Star Students.
■ Star Student award recipients have received offers of scholarship dollars from colleges and universities.
■ Every Star Student will receive recognition in a full-color special section that will be inserted in the Courier & Press and The Gleaner on Sunday, May 7, 2017.
■ In addition, every Star Student will be our guest of honor, along with two guests, at the Star Student Awards Banquet that same Sunday.
